Située dans la région viticole du Swartland en Afrique du Sud, la cave Porseleinberg a été fondée en 2009 par Marc Kent, vinificateur à la cave Boekenhoutskloof qui, avec l'aide de l'œnologue Callie Louw, a replanté le domaine en cépages syrah et grenache. Partie de 40 hectares, l'entreprise, dont le nom dérive des montagnes Porselein (Porcelaine), s'étend aujourd'hui sur 130 hectares, dont la majeure partie est cultivée en syrah.
Le vin Porseleinberg a une couleur rouge rubis intense. Le nez révèle des arômes élégants de cerises, de myrtilles et de baies sauvages, suivis de notes de pétales de rose et de violettes, d'épices et d'herbes. En bouche, il est juteux et concentré, vif et élégant. Les tanins sont veloutés et la finale est persistante et rappelle des notes épicées. Il est idéal pour accompagner l'agneau, rôti ou assaisonné d'épices, et les recettes végétariennes à base d'aubergines.
